Eva and Addie started out the same way as everyone else—two souls woven together in one body, taking turns controlling their movements as they learned how to walk, how to sing, how to dance. But as they grew, so did the worried whispers. Why aren’t they settling? Why isn’t one of them fading? The doctors ran tests, the neighbors shied away, and their parents begged for more time. Finally Addie was pronounced healthy and Eva was declared gone. Except, she wasn’t…
For the past three years, Eva has clung to the remnants of her life. Only Addie knows she’s still there, trapped inside their body. Then one day, they discover there may be a way for Eva to move again. The risks are unimaginable–hybrids are considered a threat to society, so if they are caught, Addie and Eva will be locked away with the others. And yet…for a chance to smile, to twirl, to speak, Eva will do anything.
What’s Left Of Me started off a little slow, but after a couple chapters it turned into an action packed dystopian that will keep readers on their toes until the end. The cover of What’s Left Of Me is so unique that readers will pick this book up without even reading the back cover, which is worth reading by the way.
Addie and Eva. One body, two souls. Addie and Eva are not like many people. They are hidden hybrids, which means that there are two souls inside of one body. One of them was supposed to fade away when they were young. Addie is the dominant soul, but when it was time for Eva to disappear, she clung to life, even though life was just trapped inside a body that someone else controlled. Addie knows that Eva is in there, but no one else does; not even her parents know. If someone found out about Addie and Eva being hybrids, they’d be locked away with the others. But when Eva finds out that there is a way for her to move again, instead of being trapped inside of a body, how far will she go to find out? Addie and Eva risk everything for a chance at a life with two souls.
Addie and Eva have a unique relationship and readers start to sympathize with the both of them. Kat Zhang’s writing will make readers fall in love with each of her characters, whether they are dominant or not. What’s Left Of Me will leave fans wanting more and more when it comes to end. The book hits shelves September 18, so don’t miss your chance to snag a copy!
