One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris’s initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.

  4. Shunrei says

What I love the most is the characters, I think they’re so well written you just identify with them and live their adventures and misfortunes along with them, you suffer and love with them, it’s great!

  5. says

I think I love the idea that you can remake yourself entirely by joining a new faction when you’re a teenager. I absolutely love that idea and I can’t wait to read this sequel! <3

  6. says

Tris and Four’s romance is something I adore about the books. But I also love the action, the writing style, pretty much everything about it. I am DYING to get Insurgent!

  7. Jenna says

I love Divergent because I feel that it has a good storyline and the romance isn’t the main focus in the book. I also just love the futuristic Chicago setting.

  8. Krystel Hamilton says

I just recently finished reading Divergent, and what I love is that characters are very well written, You find yourself identifying with them, cheering them on, and feeling hurt and lost when they do. The different Factions add to all the more fun, thrill, as you read and learn along with the characters.

  9. says

I just like the idea of factions, though deciding at sixteen still seems to young. I also love their virtual reality technologies, it would make great video games.

  10. alicia marie says

what’s not to like? i love all the characters and i love the story of the factions and having to choose!! thanks for the giveaway!

  11. Georgette says

What don’t I like? Nothing. I like dystopian novels, I live in Chicago, so to see that vision and live in the city, well, it’s great. Veronica Roth writes a very real sort of character and society. It’s hard NOT to like it and be breathlessly awaiting it, as most of us are.

  12. Tanya Maxemow says

I love the idea of the factions. I also Love Tris and Four. I just can’t wait to see what happens next!

  13. says

I love that it sucks you in by making you feel you have a place or a faction that you’d belong to but then takes you and twists everything so that you begin to question everything you thought before! I LOVE books that make you question!

  14. Paige says

I love the concept of the factions and the reasons behind them, and the characters (especially Tris and Four) are believable and interesting.

  15. says

Thing I love most about the Divergent series….I love the concept of the fearscapes! Very unique and different, that and I love Four. I think he’s an intriguing character 🙂

  16. Carl says

Right now I’m totally loving all the buzz about the launch of Insurgent. Bloggers are going nuts, everybody is hosting giveaways. It’s a hoot! Thanks!

  17. says

This book is fresh. Dystopia may be the new thing but this one gives us something unique. Love that. Others will copy but not come close.

  18. says

I love everything about the Divergent Trilogy. The covers, the characters, the plot and definitely the romance! (I’m a huge Four/Tobias fan. I may love him almost as much as Peeta… That’s a lot!) The originality of this novel just really makes it. Veronica isn’t afraid to do what she wants with her characters and I love that!

  19. Sandra says

I love everything about Divergent trilogy! 🙂 The story, unique plot, the way it’s written, characters, the way factions are described and story behind each one, love between Tris and Four, Tris for her strength and courageousness.. And have I mentioned how much I love Four?! :)))

  20. Jaclyn says

What is it about the Divergent Trilogy do you love most?

What’s not to love? It’s an incredible roller coaster ride through a freshly imagined dystopian society. Tris is a heroine worth rooting for. And best of all, it takes place in Chicago!

  21. Melissa says

I actually haven’t read it yet, but I am dying to. I know I’ll love it! Thanks for the giveaway!

  22. Kimberly Blair says

I love how Tris is a strong character. She is able to survive without a man helping her and taking care of her. I feel like that is something that is rare in YA right now. I can’t wait for Insurgent!

  23. says

Divergent takes place in one of my favorite cities, and really that’s at the bottom of my list of why I like this book. I am very intrigued by the politics and can’t wait to learn more about how the world end up in factions and what is ultimately going to become of them!

  24. says

I loved everything about the book, it showed how a normal person can be extraordinary only with his/her will power. I loved the character development, each of them was special of their own. The setting in dystopian Chicago was excellent and the idea of fractions was awesome. This trilogy is kind of mirror how our future can be

  25. Christy Mullins says

I love everything about Divergent. I loved Four and Tris, they are both such strong people. I can’t wait for INSURGENT!!!!! Thanks for the chance to win!

  26. Dj says

My favorite part is the different factions. I thought the author did a really good job explaining how the groups worked together and I liked how different it is than most other dystopian novels as a different divider of society. Like, there was still predjudice and everything but instead of being segregated by color or religion or anything they are divided by personality and choices. Which I thought was ver interesting and very well explained.

  27. Rimsa Naveed says

I love the characters and the world of Divergent – its just soo COOL! I really really wanna win this!

  28. Giulia says

This. Book. Is. The. Absolute. Best. Book. I. Have. Read. In. My. Life. (Divergent)
I don’t know how to say this without coming across as a total bimbo freak who squeals and screams at stuff like this….cause, really, I’m not 😀 It’s hard to make me squeal but this book has done it! It got EVERYTHING you WANT and NEED in it….and even more 🙂 I loved the romance, it left you guessing, hoping, wondering and frustrated….I could understand why Tris got so frustrated by him, and what exactly it was that pulled her to him. Also she didn’t go crazy over him, their romance didn’t take over the book which was FABULOUS!
Gosh, and Tris friends? Perfect! They weren’t just there to fill in empty gaps, they played a huge role in Tris’s life. The book showed how many of your friends choose you of who you represent, (in this case, a no-competition) and not of who you are. Really…sometimes I got SO ANGRY at them, for wanting Tris to be weak and helpless…just to feel stronger. Really sometimes I thought of them as bullies, and I don’t mean that incident that nearly happened.
Four….don’t even get me started on Four…..He is absolutely my fav boy! He doesn’t give her any special treatment, he expects her to keep up, to work harder, to take the pain. He isn’t scared of hurting her or seeing her hurt (when training) even though he likes her. Yes, at the start he was kinda squeamish about it, but as he learned her character, got to know her better, he expected it from her. To be brave and strong.
I could go on and on about this book…it has absolutely stolen my heart and honestly? I’m scared of reading the next book, in case it isn’t as good as the first. The book ended so perfectly, I have no idea how you could make it any better…..FINGERS and TOES crossed that Veronica Roth has created an awesome next book! I’m not quiet ready to let these characters go!
(I could go on about this book, but I really have to go….But I have taken this book out of the library atleast 5 times)
I should maybe say something about Tris…..but that would BE SO MUCH! She is the perfect protagonist….strong, insecure, calm, smart. I admit, sometimes I wished she was a bit more witty but really. Her character was perfect judging by the way she grew up. And she was so calm… really astounded me, but I guess it had to do with the way she grew up. All in all everything in this book perfectly synch up. Nothing is missed out on how the characters behave, by the way they grew up on who they are.

  29. Ruby Replogle says

I love the characters most, and i am only half way through Divergent but am already loving the building romance between Four and Tris 😀 <3 No joke, i stayed up last night and read 18 CHAPTERS. Must be a good book lol

  30. says

What captured me to start reading Divergent was because I found it really cool . Abnegation, Dauntless, Candor, Amity & Erudite. I just thought that the plot was really interesting and amazing. I fell into the book the moment I read it. It was just amaziiiiiiiiiiiiing~ And Tris is just so brave. I admire her so much . And a bonus was the romance between Four and Tris. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT !

  31. says

The concept of ‘one choice’ that is embodied in Divergent, Insurgent (I can tell from the tagline) and if I am correct and it follows the pattern, Detergent (is that the actual name?). Unlike so many other dystopian novels, you can choose who you want to be/come. And that choice can transform or destroy you.

  32. Sharmaine C says

The thing I really love Divergent is the Factions. They tried to create a peaceful world by dividing the people based on the personalities, and when the test came and you think you belong to another faction, you get to change. Based on the setting of the series, I tried to imagine our world. What if OUR world was also divided into factions? (I do hope I belong to either Dauntless or Erudite, but I still prefer Dauntless) Will these factions really bring peace to the world? Can they change our current situation?

  33. Farin says

I love that in the world Veronica Roth has created, individuals have some say in how they will live. I found the idea of factions really interesting. Value systems determine how you live. When Tris chose dauntless, I found myself admiring her. I would never chose a faction that required jumping off trains! I’m not that brave. (I think I would be either Erudite or Amity). But that’s another thing that is great about this book. You build connections to the characters and want them to do well.

  34. Valeria Andrea says

I haven’t read it yet. Though, I know what is is about & I like the idea of the factions; it would be a very good way to create a utopian society if it wasn’t, well, a dystipic book with overpressive goverment.

  35. Crystal Martinez says

This book was just hands down amazing!! I really loved the world that Veronica Roth built and all the different factions were so so interesting…and of course I love Tris and Four <3 <3 Thanks for such an awesome giveaway!!

  36. Leanne Yang says

It’s one of the first dystopian world books i read, and I absolutely LOVED it. I love the simulations they have to go through to overcome fears, or face them. LOVE IT

  37. Kelly says

I haven’t started it. I usually wait until the trilogy is all out because I am impatient and I forget stuff. But there is so much into the trilogy and whose team you are on. I just got Divergent from Amazon so I am starting to read it now!

  38. says

I absoltely love Tris! She is such a string character who stands up for what she truly believes in! I loved Divergent even more than the Hunger games..and thats saying something! 🙂

  39. says

You mean besides the absolutely fantastic characters and heart-pouding action? The idea behind the factions and the relationships between them. The look at human nature and learning what bravery truly is.

This series has everything I love about a book: An amazing plot, characters worthy of resect, action and to top it all off, its a book that makes you think. What’s not to enjoy?

  40. says

Thanks so much for the awesome giveaway!!

I loved….everything!! My absolute favourite thing about the Divergent trilogy is probably the amazing concept for the “factions”, I love the idea and I love trying to work out which I would want to be (either Dauntless or Amity, I think) 🙂 And with the fantastic characters, brilliant story-line…….don’t miss this book! 😉

    Thanks again!
    Beth xx

  41. Toni Dantin says

  42. says

I haven’t read Divergent yet, but I have already added it to my TRL. I want to have this one in hand by the time I start the other. 🙂

  43. Erin Guymon says

I haven’t read it yet! I’m behind and need to catch up. I’m going to make a library run this week so I’ll have to wait and see what my favorite part is.

  44. Lacey T says

I love the fact that there are factions with a theme to each one (like Erudite and Dauntless). It makes me think about which faction I would be born in or which I would choose to live in. And of course I love Four! 🙂

  45. says

What I love the most about Divergent was the idea behind each faction… It isn’t like the Hunger Games where the rich folks are mean by default and the poorer folks districts are more humble…
In Divergent the factions are based on what you believe in and there is no good or bad factions as such…its just what you believe you are, which is so refreshing!

  46. Alicia Argenti says

I just finished Insurgent not that long ago! What I love about this series so far is Tris and Four’s relationship.

  47. hiba008 says

What do I love about Insurgent? Everything!
I loved the world Veronica Roth introduced us to in the book and of course, I loved Four 🙂
