After Mara Dyer wakes up in a hospital with no recollection of how she got there and finds out three of her friends died in an accident and she is the only one that survived, all she wants to do is stay away from her mothers prying eyes and get on with her life. That said, Mara and her family pack up and move to Florida for her to get a fresh start somewhere new. But sometimes, no matter how far you run, the things from your past will always come back to haunt you…No matter how much you try to move on.

In Florida, Mara meets the mysterious, but very sexy, Noah Shaw. Even after everything that happened, she sees herself falling in love with him. Who can blame her, though? He’s British! When strange things start happening to Mara, Noah helps her on a quest to find out what is going on with her. And what they find out will shock you.

This review is going to be short and deliciously dark. Readers will devour The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer in one sitting and be left begging for more. Michelle Hodkin’s debut novel is hauntingly beautiful with the added bonus of dark and sinister humor. Every character in this novel has their own purpose; their own hidden agenda, and it makes it all the more interesting. Readers will be on the edge of their seats trying to solve the puzzle of Mara Dyer’s life. This is the type of book that is read under the covers, with the lights on! But, trust me when I say, that this book is unlike any other. Michelle Hodkin did a more than fantastic job on her novel and we cannot wait to read more!
