My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who’s sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I’m not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.
I’ve finally got myself caught up with this inspiring series. To say that I’ve simply loved it is an understatement. Every time I come across a great series like this one, I feel like I’ve found some hidden treasure.
My first fairy read was Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr. I thought that no one would be able to top her conception of fairies, but I was wrong. Julie had her own smart twist on the enchanting creatures. She was able to create relatable characters, who look nothing like humans in shape but in heart.
The Iron Queen was an extraordinary extension of the adventures between Magan, Puck, and Ash. The story was full of heartbreak, longing, and everlasting love.
The adventure was fast paced, and full of drama. I didn’t know what to expect most of the time, and that kept the book interesting. Julie constructed new adventures that kept this book interesting and fresh.
What took Julie’s story to a new dimension was Khristine Hvam with her fascinating ability to build a whole world with her voice alone. Listening to the audiobook narrated by Khristine made me love the characters more. They were suddenly…real. I was in their heads listening to their voices as they argued together, contemplated strategies, and whispered words of affection.
Listening to the characters was like playing a movie, but with lots of room for my imagination to perfect the story. I will definitely buy the books because I know they are one’s I’ll read multiple times, which isn’t true for many of the books I’ve been reading lately. But If you’ve read this series, I do recommend that you purchase the audiobooks because they are a completely new experience. A wonderful one. A very imaginative one. *wink wink*
